Presidential seed grant for disaster education with AI and immersive technology
A UGA Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grant team, led by Grace Ahn with Kyle Johnsen, is using AI and the lab's Drawn Together mixed reality system for disaster education and risk communication.
A 2025 UGA Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grant, Disaster Education and Risk Communication Using Artificial Intelligence and Immersive Technologies, brings together researchers from across campus with emergency-management partners. The team, led by Sun Joo (Grace) Ahn with Kyle Johnsen, Prashant Doshi and partners in emergency management, including the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, is extending Drawn Together to support disaster training, risk communication and mitigation planning.
